New Max Wright Web Site Goes Live

The original site went live in January 1999, offering information about the company and the opportunity to contact us and complete forms via the web. While this site generated a many more hits per month than our rivals, it was acknowledged that the site was limited in its interactivity and the information that was provided was only of use to new or potential customers. The old site could cope comfortably with a resolution of 800 x 600, however, if the browser window was not fullscreen, the general look of the site could be compromised.

The launch of the MPS, gave us a chance to address these problems and improve other areas at the same time. One of the concepts behind the MPS is that it is made from 'Off The Shelf' compartments, which makes it quick to design and build. This means that the method of designing a control panel using the MPS is quick and easy.

Also one of the criteria of the new site was that it should be possible to view the site in the same layout without any deformations at a window size of 560 x 320. This allows the favorites window to be open at fullscreen, or the browser to open while having other applications visible on the screen. This has been acheived by the use of frames and careful page design. This now allows the site to be viewed in many window sizes and resolutions.

The old site was only updated occasionally which meant the content was not changed regularly enough to encourage visitors to return more than once. The new site will be updated with any new information on a fortnightly basis. Also as the new MPS evolves, new information about related products and compartments will be added to the site.

The old site was written entirely using HTML. The new site utilises javasript, DHTML and stlye sheets, this is to allow the site to be far more interactive, but means the site can only be viewed using relatively new browers. If an incompatible browser is detected, the client is offered a link to the latest brower download sites. If you are reading this then your browser is compatible.

We hope you find the new site useful as a new customer and a source of information as an existing customer. We are always looking at improving our site, if you have experienced any problems or have any ideas of ways in which the site can be used, please contact us.
